Plant Description
Sweetcrisp is considered the best tasting and most crisp of all Blueberries. They are large to extra large berries with a little crunch to the bite. It is a fast growing vigorous plant. The plant does produce a lot of blueberries as far as farm production is concerned but is still planted. These are great Blueberry Plants for Southern and Central States. Low chill 200-250 hours required which makes it a great mid to late season producer. It is great for homeowners because it is a moderate to easy growing plant and of course because of its great taste.
How to Grow
Most edible plants grow well in Full Sun but a little shade won’t hurt. Blueberry Plants need to be planted in acidic soil/low pH 5.5-6.4. I recommend 60%-80% Pine Mulch/20-40% Peat. As your plant gets bigger you can change the ratio to more Pine Mulch up to 100%. I substitute Peat with Happy Frog Potting Soil. Keep your soil moist and when it is about dried out water again. It may be better to grow your plants in 4 inch to 1 gallon containers for several months until plants are larger before repotting or planting. I recommend an organic regiment with life beneficials, fertilizer, organic fungicide and pest control.
